'Perfect Binding' Square Spine (13mm depth) 

    Not everyone is a fan of a B5 Notebook, but personally I think they’re a great way of getting a bit of extra space to fill with a pattern.  Although I may be biased……. 

    The extra space is undeniably useful though, and it is the perfect size in between a bulky, hard-to-carry A4 pad and an A5 which is portable but with pages that can be very quickly filled.  

    The Brighton Birds artwork is new pattern for 2023, inspired by the Royal Pavillion in Brighton close to where I grew up and with overwhelming interiors filled with colour and pattern I still remember being in awe of on school art trips. 

    All the motifs you see are originally hand-drawn and painted, before being turned into a digital chinoiserie-style pattern and then tweaked to feature on this stylish stationery set of notebooks, notepads and bookmarks. 

    The cover of this notebooks is a 300gsm FSC-approved card, which gives protection to the 100gsm pages inside but without too much bulk.  The inside of the cover is the same pink as the outside (just without the pattern) and the first page inside features a monochrome version of the cover with a large circle ready for key information and to help take away any first-page nerves the owner might have.  

    The rest of the inside pages all have a faint grey dot 5mm apart as well as unobtrusive page numbers in the same colour in the bottom corners.  These have been included with planner and bullet journal lovers in mind, knowing that for some of their spreads they might also appreciate the slightly larger page size.  The pages are bound to the cover using the ‘Perfect binding’ method and so are glued to the entire spine, with creases on the front and back covers parallel to the spine to ensure you can still fold them back and make the most of every page. 

    These notebooks are printed here in the UK by an independent business specialising in book printing, and the same printer that has printed all my notebooks.  As with all my products the print runs are kept deliberately small, ensuring waste is minimised and allowing for a bigger range of patterns.  

    Each notebook comes wrapped with a recycled paper belly band and in a biodegradable cellophane wrap to protect it which makes it a planet-friendly stationery gift too!
