I reckon that the A5 notepad is possibly the hardest-working stationery items around the country (*although I have nothing to confirm that).  It’s an absolute staple of anyone’s stationery collection - great for meeting notes, keeping by a phone or on the kitchen bench for shopping lists - and having a patterned one just gives it that extra bit of something.  Meaning regardless of how every-day what’s written on it seems, it still looks lovely and inviting!  

This pad is part of the Deco Delights patterns collection which was new for 2023.  It’s a shapely, Deco inspired pattern with deep teal tones and golden yellow detailing to give it some elegance and sophistication, which of course rubs off on whatever is on the page.  Initially a hand-drawn motif, this has been digitised and turned into a repeat pattern which you can see across this and the other items within the collection.  

This recycled paper notepad, complete with corner detailing on the writing panels, has 50 tear-off sheets per pad, which are lightly glued together along the top edge.  The central panel is ever-so-slightly transparent, so you can still faintly see the pattern underneath, but also clearly read what’s been written.  The paper is 100gsm, so it’s nice and smooth to write on and can easily cope with inkier pens and highlighters, and the pad is backed by recycled board to give it some rigidity.  Along with the vegetable oil based inks used by my UK based printer, it means this product is made from recycled elements and is also fully recyclable too.  Finally, this notepad will come to you wrapped in biodegradable cellophane, meaning that you can dispose of it in household rubbish guilt-free. 

There’s a few reasons why a notepad such as this makes a great gift, especially for stationery lovers.  Firstly they’re an easy shape to wrap and post.  Secondly, they make a unique budget-friendly yet quality gift, especially good for a colleague or a secret-santa.  And finally they’re a practical present too, so if you’re conscious about not wanting to get something for the sake of it a pad like this, or just generally beautiful patterned stationery, make a brilliant choice. In fact last year my A5 pads, and sets including them, were popular teacher gifts!
